This thread will close approximately one week from now, on Sunday May 1 (at around 9 pm CET). This means that during the first rounds you cannot vote for Logen. This year's last man/woman/creature standing will have to face the Bloody Nine in the Finale. NB: The reigning Champion is Logen 'The Bloody Nine' Ninefingers (First Law). That's right, your top 10 can contain any fantasy character you wish!
Last year there was a shortlist of fantasy characters to choose from, but for this year you're free to select any fantasy character you like. Based on the ranking of the top 32, the match-ups will be set and organized by me, and then the tournament will play out from there. Any characters that don't make the top 32 based on points received will not go through to the next round and will therefore disappear into forgetfulness (which is of course the worst fate a fantasy character can befall). At the end of a week of voting the characters will be ranked, from 1 to 32, based on the number of points he/she/it received. Your #1 pick will receive 10 points, your #10 pick will receive 1 point, and I'm sure you can guess what comes in between. HOW THIS THREAD WORKS: Everyone who wishes to participate (which to be honest should be all BFB forum members ) will list their top 10 favorite characters from a fantasy book/series only in order (please put the book/series of the fantasy character in between brackets behind the character name). Rather than randomly picking 32 characters and then randomly matching them up against each other, I will have the forum members pick the 32 characters and who will match-up against whom (kind of). The Purpose of the First Round: The purpose of the first round is to fairly determine the match-ups of the next round of the character tournament. More detailed information on Round 2 will follow at a later stage. In the first round 32 characters will be selected that will go through to Round 2 the knock-out phase of this tournament. What is the Fantasy Character Elimination Game: This game pits fantasy characters against each other in an all out tournament to determine which fantasy character is the all-time favorite of this forum.
